Wichita Attorneys FAQ

How much does it cost to hire an attorney?

A character who has suffered a personal injury does not pay any legal professional charges except the case is resolved and money is recovered for the client. If no cash is ever recovered, the client does no longer pay any attorney’s charges or charges (called a “contingent fee agreement”).
Most attorneys charge our clients based totally on this contingent fee. The client in no way receives a monthly consignment that they have to pay. Instead, we cost a share of the amount we recover. This percentage is paid after the settlement, no longer before, and is calculated based upon the entire agreement amount. Also, at the time of settlement, the customer will pay out of the settlement for any out-of-pocket prices incurred. These costs encompass scientific files and reports, submitting fees, deposition charges, reproduction charges, and different comparable expenses. These fees are deducted after the percentage for attorneys’ fees is deducted.

Does a person have to pay for an initial consultation with an attorney?

No. Every day, lawyers receive calls asking for consultations. These initial consultations are provided free of charge to everyone.

How do I find the best lawyer for my case?

When first meeting with potential attorneys ask the difficult questions:
How long have you been practicing?
Do you restrict your practice to the fields of personal harm and wrongful death?
Are you inclined to take a case like mine to trial if that is the sole means of obtaining fair compensation?
How many cases have you tried to a jury?
Are you Nationally Board Certified as a civil trial specialist?
What is your win/loss record? Keep in idea that if they have now not misplaced their truthful share of instances then they have not tried adequate instances and are now not aggressive enough to deal with your claim.

What questions should I ask before hiring a lawyer?

What is your legal specialty?
How long have you practiced law?
How and how often do you bill?
Can you tell me whether I have a strong case without having to spend a lot of money?
How often will you update me on the status of my case?
What are my responsibilities as a client?
